On the same stage
Some shows have us backing a guest singer. Others put us on the same festival bill. Here's the distinction, with the event records.
2019 · Triangle, Taipei
On May 17, 2019, Balkazar was the backing band for Fermín Muguruza, known for the Basque ska-punk band Kortatu, at Taipei's Triangle. Fermín sang with us onstage. This was a collaborative performance, not merely an appearance on the same bill.
2017 / 2018 / 2020 · Taipei
Balkazar and Skaraoke have shared festival bills more than once, including Urban Nomad in 2017 and 2020 and Taiwan Ska Fest in 2018. At PIPE in 2018, Balkazar played its own set; Skaraoke backed Rob “Bucket” Hingley, frontman of The Toasters, later in the night.
2017 · Triangle, Taipei
On September 15, 2017, Balkazar was on the bill for Skankin' Ska Night at Triangle, alongside Japanese band TEX & SUN FLOWER SEED and other ska/reggae acts.
